Kansas City Pregnancy Clinic & Mercy and Truth
|
Kansas City Pregnancy Clinic (KCPC) is a low-cost-structure, high-client-volume pregnancy clinic effectively delivering high-quality life-affirming services. KCPC addresses two critical issues -- there is no other pregnancy help center located in the central core of the Kansas City metro area and Planned Parenthood has announcement they hope to open a regional abortion facility soon in downtown Kansas City, KS, to more-easily target low-income and especially-vulnerable populations.
The opening of KCPC coincided with "Working with Mom’s in Need: A Year of Service", a bold new initiative of the U.S. Bishops’ Committee on Pro-Life Activities, which launched on March 25, 2020, Feast of the Annunciation of Our Lord, and 25th anniversary of St. John Paul II’s encyclical, Evangelium Vitae (Gospel of Life). The interim executive director, Donna Kelsey, has over 12 years of experience in the role and regularly collaborates with other PRCs in the Diocese of KC-St. Joseph and the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas. KCPC's volunteer medical director, Dr. Brendan Mitchell, MD, is a board-certified OBGYN and has served hundreds of women in the immediate area through the years. On Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, a group of KCPC employees, volunteers, and donors joined Archbishop Naumann as he blessed the clinic’s new 4D ultrasound. The machine, a gift of the Knights of Columbus, arrived at the clinic on Sept. 14 and is the 24th one donated by the organization to pregnancy clinics within the state of Kansas. Read more... |
